Posted: "Early Monday, the personal trainer to many athletes, Nick Schuyler, was found clinging on to a capsized boat. A Coast Guard cutter just 35 miles off Clearwater located Schuyler. The man his former University of South Florida (USF) teammate compared to being “as strong as an ox” was found wearing a yellow jacket with an orange life vest sitting on the hull of the capsized boat. He was soon rescued and lifted into a rescue basket from the Coast Guard helicopter. ..."
Posted: "When normally people or an NFL player for that matter go fishing, it is to be a type of equivalent to playing a friendly game of golf with some friends. Times to re-connect, reflect, relax, and look ahead. Unfortunately that was anything but for several men on Saturday that included NFL players Corey Smith (Detroit Lions Defensive End) and Marquis Cooper (Oakland Raiders Linebacker). Around 6:30am on Saturday, Smith and Cooper went on a fishing trip with two other men (Will Bleakley and Nick Schuyler both former University of South Florida players) off Florida’s Gulf Coast that was set to arrive back to land just before dark; however, it wasn’t until Sunday at 2:00am there was a call phoned to the U.S. Coast Guard that they never made it back...."
"Michael Phelps will no longer be the target, (at least this time) for partaking in the good old mary jane - the ganja, better yet known as marijuana to the politically correct. South Carolina Sheriffs declared they will not go forth with the case against America’s stellar Olympian swimmer due to “insufficient evidence.”
Whether Michael Phelps is an avid subscriber of “the mary j.” or not, he’s no fool. Phelps was caught taking a riff of a marijuana bong at a South Carolina house party in November 2008 among about 40 partygoers and also made a $2,000 bet on a game of beer bong. ..."
As Flashscoop reported last week the loss of freestyle motocross rider, Jeremy Lusk – there will be one last farewell. Funeral services will be held today for those closest to Lusk due to limited church capacity; however, the service will be available via webcast.
Being a part of the metal scene around Southern California especially Los Angeles and the Inland Empire/Riverside County area I’ve learned to understand the Metal Mulisha a bit. Metal Mulisha isn’t just a motocross ‘crew,’ in a sense it’s a way of life, it’s its own culture. I’m sure you’ve seen a sticker around town on the back of someone’s truck. This is a huge loss for the Metal Mulisha family as well as the sport of motocross (family, friends, and fans). Jeremy Lusk was and will always be a part of that family. He will be sorely missed and will be the inspiration and motivation for the future of motocross, the X-Games, and the Metal Mulisha.
Lusk died after a crash in Costa Rica during a competition. Lusk, who was just 24 years old, grew up in San Diego and later moved to Temecula where he later got married. This stellar rider best known for his Metal Mulisha affiliation along side his many X-Game achievements: winning the Gold medal and Silver medals last year. As told to the Associated Press: "Jeremy was a gifted athlete and an innovator. He will be greatly missed," said Rick Alessandri, senior vice president of the X Games Franchise.
Lusk had attempted to do a trick he was no stranger to – the “Hart Attack” backflip. This time around the trick didn’t go as planned as Lusk failed to rotate properly making the landing a bit more difficult…slamming into his head. He died 3 days after the competition with his family and friends by his side. "Jeremy motivated me to be a better person," said Metal Mulisha founder and teammate Brian Deegan. "One day, we will all be reunited and will ride together again."
Brian Deegan & Jeremy Lusk
Funeral services for Lusk, a graduate of West Hills High School in the San Diego County city of Santee, are scheduled for today, Feb. 16th, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the Revival Christian Fellowship Church in Menifee, 29220 Scott Road.
Important Note:MetalMulisha.com has reported … Due to the overwhelming response to the loss of Jeremy Lusk and limited church capacity – they unfortunately must limit the service to “friends, family and industry.” However, the funeral will be available via webcast at: http://www.revival.tv/jeremylusk/
Although not as familiar with the sport of Motorcross, I am familiar with the heavy hitters and notable riders such as Jeremy Lusk. On behalf of myself, Flash Scoop and other fans I would like to express my dearest condolences to the Lusk family and friends.
Freestyle motocross superstar Jeremy Lusk, 24-years-old died late Monday night in the Calderon Hospital after suffering from severe head trauma from attempting to land a the "Hart Attack" backflip that ended badly during a competition in San Jose, Costa Rica. Lusk rode up the long ramp and into the air..slamming headfirst into the dirt. According to the Associate Press, "The Temecula, Calif., resident was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma and survived a 4 1/2-hour surgery to help remedy the problem and reduce swelling in his brain, the North County Times reported. He was then placed into a medically induced coma but never regained consciousness." In the hospital, Lusk was surrounded by his mother and father, Chuck and Gina Lusk; his wife Lauren, and mother- and father-in-law Lynne and Larry, along with fellow Metal Mulisha riders Brian Deegan, Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele and Erik Apple.
the "Hart Attack" backflip crash that ended Lusk's life
the 1st time Jeremy Lusk attempted the "Hart Attack" backflip in the 2007 X- Games
Lusk best known for his stellar achievements: being the Gold medalist in the 2008 X-Games and Silver in Best Trick when he landed the first double-grab "Hart Attack" backflip. He won a Bronze helmet in freestyle at the Moto X World Championships in his hometown of San Diego. As his achievements will be remembered so will his love of life to those that knew him. Lusk will not be forgotten in the world of motocross.
Please keep Lusk and his family in your thoughts and prayers. An announcement on a memorial service is pending.
"Michael Phelps the new-age golden (medal boy) has proven himself to be quite thee athletic stallion upon being what looks to be a great guy to party with. Besides, why wouldn’t one want to celebrate after making their mark in the Olympic Games – 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to be exact. Minor detail, he was a minor when he was first busted 3 months after the 2004 Athens Olympics for drunken driving. So would it really be a surprise that our beloved Michael Phelps, 23-years-old, would next be busted for a picture of himself at a house party in Columbia, South Carolina inhaling from a marijuana pipe a.k.a. smoking from a bong?..."
I'll be the Sports Writer for Flash Scoop and I'll start to put the snippet of those up on here...lol, you'll have the visit the Flash Scoop site for more info. Just click in my Fav. blogs to get there.
"While I’ve grown to know Alex Rodriguez to be one of the league’s heavy competitors at one point in time. After all, that’s when baseball seemed to hit its peak with a hint of innocent passion to succeed. Either that or I may just be getting older as I hate to admit it. The game of baseball has gone through many makeovers from your Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Mike Piazza/Eric Karros squad, to what seems to be more than half of the major league exposed for taking more than a sip of that infamous “juice.” It saddens me to think my favorite baseball players would inject themselves to upgrade the game of baseball. If that was the case, metal bats would be legal. However, that’s neither here nor there.
Alex Rodriguez, better known as A-Rod to many, has been the topping on my not so tasty cake of truth. The blatant truth is that these players did what they needed to do because of job security and to increase their chances of endorsements – when your life becomes a business. ......"
So I had meant to write on here on Friday or at least Saturday..ha, and as you can see it's Sunday and I'm just now posting. Friday was one of those days where my dream of being a 'Sportscaster' ..were making more sense..and it was becoming surreal. I've only been an Editorial Assistant (E.A.) for KNBC News since Sept.; however, I've kind of been in the KNBC family for a bit - starting off as a Sports Intern and then every 2 years as an 'Olympic Logger' (helping with the Winter & Summer Olympic Games - Athens, Torino, Beijing). It was cool because as a logger I was actually getting paid and I got to be back at the place I loved dearly with the people I loved dearly. This time around after the Beijing Olympics, I knew this would be my last chance for romance as they say. You see, I had in a sense groomed myself for this life..to be a Sportscaster. Ever since I was in high school, I knew this is what I wanted to do. Robin Roberts was my inspiration and motivation to want to be the best Sportscaster. I then tested it out in College and had a blast - from doing the Sports news on KSPC 88.7 FM to the 'Sports Jam Session' my buddy Connie and I had created that I hosted, co-produced/edited. I was fortunate enough to be sent out on shoots as a Sports Intern instead of just logging sporting events (which is also good practice because you get a better understanding of how a producer thinks and what they consider 'newsworthy'..haha what I like to call 'NASCAR-worthy')..
I call it NASCAR-worthy because the event itself is painful as hell to watch on your TV screen, lol, but every once in a while their may be a collision, an accident, some fire.. and this may sound insensitive, but if you were sensitive to everything in news, you'd be an emotional wreck for the most part and not be able to do your job. Don't get me wrong, I think it sucks and is incredibly unfortunate, but since it DID happen, we HAVE to report it. Which is why I'd rather do Sports over regular news just because I myself don't think I'd be capable of reporting a death, fire, etc. every day especially if I'm having an amazing day - lol I mean REALLY, lol if you know ME..I smile and laugh at the most random moments...so if it's an athlete at least it's someone the public can relate to and understand who they were before their passing. I don't know, that's just my point of view..I love Sports and love talking about it. :0)
Anyhoot, before I go off on another tangent, lets see where was I.. NASCAR-worthy..Sports Internship..oh, I say all of that to say that I needed to do all the random stuff I did in between my Internship and my E.A. spot instead of doing it back to back and work while in school......... working with Talent (Emcees, Bands, Comedians, etc.), working at JuiceCaster, etc...to know this is TRULY what I want to do. I don't regret any of the things I did, as a matter of fact, when I make it big, I would like to still be able to work with talent; however, as for right now, I have to do what I've been always been wanting to do, which is go full force on doing Sportscasting.
Friday: Seeing Robin Roberts in the 'Good Morning America' (GMA) hot seat...and then speaking with and getting great words of wisdom from Tara and David who have been in the biz for a very long time it sparked many notions and put into perspective what I need to do. I think the reason I neglected to FULLY commit in the beginning was because I would have to leave town - I would have to leave the Los Scandalous that I have learned to love. I would have to leave my family and friends for a year or so. It bums me out to think of it, but it's not like I'm leaving the country so everyone will still be a drive or flight away (depending on what market I start in). Of course I want to stay on the West Coast, but if it means I have to be in the boonies for a year or 2, then so be it. It's about the main point, and the main point is the big picture to eventually be in the L.A. or National Market. Everyone does it and that means I can fine-tune everything before the rest of the world gets to criticize. lol..man, it's almost like I'm double thinking going to Grad School again just because this time, I feel like I'm learning a slew at work and I'm working on my Voice Over (VO) writing, then soon writing for a Live shot, and a Package. I'm stoked to have this one on one help from Camille. The industry is definitely about who you know and I've been incredibly blessed to have such top-notch folks helping me out to be great. I want to make sure I have the basics down in writing before making a reel and sending it out as MY product. From hearing the anchors, Jenn and Chris telling me their stories on how they started, Chris' mentors, etc. I'm loving every moment of this process. Even though I have many more steps to go..lol and I'm sure some people in the newsroom don't understand why I'm so happy no matter what time of the day it is while at work - I must say, it's completely genuine...after working other jobs where you get screwed over ...or you're just not happy ..or not everyone is on the same page.. you appreciate something like this, working in one of the top markets in the country- where you finally feel at home is an amazing feeling.
[lol, go to the 9 min. mark]
So pretty much as I have put it before, I needed to date around before figuring out that I really am in Love :0)
So Today has been full of interesting moments haha including when the camera in the studio brought on a life of it's own and slowly cruised into Elita's weather shot. lmao to check it out, go on my Facebook or look for Elita Loresca Meets "Jaws" The Cameraman! Every morning when I go to work, I check my horoscope..you know after I check the tipline and find out if any newsworthy kind of stuff is going down ("the beatcheck"). lmao, now I must say..I don't just go to ONE horoscope "source"..I used to just go to Yahoo until I figured Facebook's horoscope tends to be a bit more accurate - plus the one on my blog uses Yahoo so I narrowed it down. My stance on horoscopes would be.. I believe them to a certain extent; however, I use it as more of a 'heads up' memo of what.. should, maybe, just possibly..HAPPEN.
So this is what I had as a 'memo' today...
Facebook [Chinese Horoscope]: Wednesday, November 19 You could be acting a little foggy today, but you may be channeling the wisdom of the universe without realizing it. You could benefit greatly from meditation, prayer, and spiritual insights. Religious and spiritual issues will be important to you today.
Facebook [Sagittarius Daily Horoscope]: Special insights, dreams, even psychic flashes may prove helpful today. Trust your gut feeling, especially where it comes to dealing with family members - your own, or the members of your partner's family. You are likely to be at odds with someone who isn't fully grounded in reality.
Yahoo [Daily Overview]: QUICKIE: An authority figure might stir up difficult emotions, but a conversation won't help.
OVERVIEW: You're building up some serious goodwill with customers and neighbors today -- just by being yourself! Direct some of that positive energy outward and you should see amazing things start to happen spontaneously.
..lmao and then I normally go into a bit more depth with the Yahoo horoscope stuff...
haha, this time it was a bit of everything..I was most certainly a Space Cadet on wheels and I truly needed some prayer once I got home to fight the temptation. You see sometimes I have moments in my head it could be about anything, but if it's bad I gotta work through it. lmao you see, when I you ask me.. "How are you doing?"..and I say "...trying to stay out of trouble"..I truly AM trying to stay out of trouble. It's way too easy to get into trouble (at least for me it is)..so trying to make the better decisions when I absolutely do NOT want to - can be difficult on some days, some moments, some occasions. lmao almost like a relapse..you've done it, you've overcome it..oooh but it's soo easy to get sucked back into that vortex. ha, maybe in a memoir of sorts when I've made my gouda and lived life a bit more I can reveal these many complex dimensions of what and who I am.
For now, I'm thankful to have amazing family and friends and an awesome job I get a 2nd chance at....and somewhat of my health..so although we have our struggles, the blessings are greater than the momentarily trivial (that will eventually get worked out). ha, I look forward to that day. I know my (day)dreams are merely a test to see how far I've come from the last time, lol so hopefully I pass because right now I'm getting stuck on question number 4. lmao.. eeesh...
I love the L.A. sports teams and I think we can ACTUALLY do it this year...Lakers, Dodgers, Sparks..lol hell even the Clippers if they GET IT TOGETHER in time.
I refuse to let L.A. go down in flames with such TALENT.
I LOVE L.A.!! lmao. i wish i had that song for this blog. anyhoot, enjoy.
Correction: I believe the sparks DID win against seattle at the galen center, it was the game AFTER that when they lost (the game and hopes for making it to the finals)...
PROP 8: I was compelled to talk to the jackhole's that voted yes on prop 8 (in california) because it makes absolutely no sense that you'd take away someone's happiness AND rights. And NOOO they will not teach you or your kids about gay marriage in SCHOOL. It's never happened and would NEVER happen..lol really, when do you ever remember learning about marriage in general?..EXACTLY, that's what i thought..lol... Why would you take someone's rights away?...
BARACK OBAMA: Correction: he's NOT the first black guy to run for president. Don't forget it was Jesse Jackson in 1988 that first ran for presidency (ahead of the curve)..he was THE dude to open THAT door..so when you're tearing up over obama and thanking him..send a hug or 2 to jesse.
The magical voting day is just days away. I hope you all vote and of course hopefully you're vote will be for the betterment of this country. lol
Make sure to at least get a bit of info on each of the presidential candidates, measures, propositions, and of course the other candidates for state positions.
So today was my opportunity to you know, live that American Dream..or at least work towards that dream anyway. If you didn't know what my ultimate goal for my career existence besides making a change and being a great influence for fellow earthlings..lol I want to do Sports Broadcasting (on-air). Many reasons why I'd like to, but simply put .. I love to talk about Sports and I love the game and the notion of Sports.
Well today was the Pac-10 Media Day for Men's College Basketball where it was simply the coaches and top players from the Pac-10 conference answering questions and hyping up what shall take place for the upcoming season. So, when you do stand-ups, you need a great background (atmosphere), have a quick outro if you will that pretty much summarizes the days events for what you could attach to a package (a.k.a a story). The media day took place at the Hilton close to LAX. Long story short, I went to this media day straight after doing an 8-hour shift of 2am to 10am - not like that's excuseable because I knew I was going to the shoot as of yesterday [late afternoon/night]. So I do my stand-up that I can use for my reel, put together a potential package (for my reel), and overall have it critiqued by my trusted, awesome sports producers, whom I love dearly.
I get in front of the camera with that stellar nbc flag (the box on the mic) and that mic...lights from the camera go on, lol and JAM is like a deer caught in some headlights jibber-jabbing. Mind you, I had an idea of what I wanted to say, upgraded the outfit game, but was lagging on the hair and make-up which already made me look lame...but whatever, it's practice, right? EEERGH, soo wrong..so wrong. I should have never treated it as practice, I should have looked as if I already had the gig and should have written and been more prepared. I should have been looking like the dun-dada in the building. So needless to say, I looked like a goofy goober flubbing over what was suppose to be a quick stand-up while Jim Hill (CBS sports - that I just realized at the end of this blog that Pat Tobin actually worked with him back in the day) was only several footsteps away doing his own thing, carrying his own convos while watching me flub. Thank goodness the photographer (camera dude) was cool about it all and gave me his critiques..after all he's been a photog for like the past 40 years. lol, if there's one thing I can do RIGHT - is most certainly listen to my elders that know what they're talking about. So that guy certainly um, critiqued me...lol, definitely wasn't feeling JAMtastic.
But I had to step back..this was my SERIOUS reality check. It's most certainly not as easy as it looks and I have a greater respect and appreciation for it. Even though, I've done the sports news on my college radio station, hosted/co-produced/edited my sports show for my college tv station, lol and even most recently - my JAMtastic Blogs... plus I had great people I had to give me some insight like Shelley Smith (ESPN), Bonnie Bernstein (CBS sports) and some anchors/reporters from knbc and teleumundo sports, and writers/producers...I thought I could handle it since after all I could envision myself doing it, so I could do it.
.......Boy was I wrong and looked like a complete jackhole and embarrassed myself. However, I needed to be mortified and knocked down to drive the point home of what needs to really happen. I was happy with the fact that I was no longer a nerdy intern that wanted to do sports broadcasting, but refused to do a stand-up because I absolutely wasn't 'there'. I feel more comfortable in front of the camera, but from now on I have to be the most glamified from now on - no exceptions to the rule.
Even though it's against what the younger JAM would do, I have to care about my appearance unfortunately. lol, but we'll have some fun with it. So now that I made it into this exclusive party, I have to work my way up. I have the opportunity to learn so much and do so much that the time is now. I can't wait, I can't say, well I'll do that in a couple of months. Before I know it, a couple of months will be a couple of years. I refuse to wait and most importantly, I refuse to lose. So, what's next?
LOL!..well, lets see, I have a hair appointment tomorrow afternoon, then need to figure out a JAMtastic way to keep my hair on point all the time..and invest in one of those thingys called a flat iron..yeah my pockets haven't been able to afford those things, but the time is now. So viva la rasa and seize the day..or better yet, carpe diem ..as the italians say.. 'Goditi il momento'... So I've got my hair appt...then in a couple of weeks, a JAMtastic photoshoot shall take place, make-up game along with some purchases of some real make-up tools..lol..other than that. It's a new day, it's a new moment..live it or go kick rocks.. lmao.
..but hey look on the bright side, lol when I woke up from my massive nap/bedtime (since my schedule has to be ass backwards).. my good buddy brooke sent this to me..lmao..plus i'm sooo ready for a fantastic friday that happens to be halloween..lmao...
Video from CNNBC: "Obama's Loss Traced To Jameela Hammond"
Since today was pretty hilarious and as my horoscope put it ..I had an 'edu-tainment' kind of day.. I'll occasionally share my progress and my journey to getting to the top..lol as my pocket doesn't reflect such success..lol, we'll all live this together in the jamtastic arena.. hope everyone had a great day. If you're not happy, find something that does and be amazing at it. Whenever you question anything: Let me tell you a moment I had, My mentor, Pat Tobin (R.I.P.) ...before she passed, I saw her at her Tribute Party while she was very sick with her cancer, she was even losing her voice. She looked sick as if she should be at home - - away from the chaos of dealing with people. But she was there, with a smile and in amazingly great spirits. Point is, if a woman like that can smile through her pain and affect others in the most positive light, so can you.....
This woman is an inspiration, motivator, mentor, great friend, and my top supporter. The tribute party was for her and to raise money for her scholarship she created..

this was the last time I saw Pat before she passed, June 10th, 2008..which interestingly enough was only a couple of days if not exactly to the date..my grandfather (another influential person in my world) had passed away 10 years ago...
Hey Folks, I know it's been way to long since I've written a blog. And I totally owe a new 'vblog' (lol, that's the cool way of saying video blog). Anyhoot - I wanted to clear up that the case of Bitchassness (or the one I was mainly focused on)..thank goodness was merely a false alarm. lol, lets hope it stays that way.
But speaking of Bitchassness.. I'm here at UCI and Campus MovieFest is unfortunately coming to an end. I had a blast meeting the students and really take a new perspective of looking at the college life, it's students, and all the extra curricular activities that go along with it. So today, was the day for UCI..UC Irvine for those that were stuck on that last letter. And another fantastic fact for those that may not know... I mostly grew up in Garden Grove (the ghetto fabulous part of the OC)..and then went to high school in Irvine (we moved there as well). So I've never really been a FAN per say of the city of Irvine and it's people that consist within it's borderlines of lies. hmm, Where to start. Lets just say, I've had numerous incidents that had fed into my notions of my complete dislike, but I met some outstanding individuals from there. Some I say hello to every once in a while whether it be online (facebook myspace)..or maybe meet up for an event/get together. So coming back to Irvine, I wasn't to stoked as one would put it so gingerly, but I had hopes of it being an evolving experience. You know like the love-hate kinds where once you hated it and now you can respect it. Well I can't really say that.
On my drive down here, that long ass haul is way too symbolic of going over the bridge to go to a bubble of bougy bullshit. I should have seen it, but I wanted to give it a chance, lol since that's what I really have been trying hard on - to give things a fair shot. Well this shot should have been shut for the get-go..lol. I had stopped at 'Peet's Coffee' across the street from UCI since my eyes all of a sudden wanted to be droppy from the ridiculous drive. Seriously, let me just say, the drive (especially on the 405) is just STUPID. It's like driving over a moet to get to a castle when it's just bling from the outside and no substance on the inside. So I was in the coffee place, and the girl started off being nice asking about my Campus MovieFest t-shirt and then was kind of dry with it after that and kind shoved my money back in my hand. Then her fat head boss ended up making my drink and of course put whip when I had specifically asked for it not to be on there. Eh, no biggie..people make human mistakes. Well the man was a bit rude about it, lol when he was the one in the wrong. On top of that, the vibe as soon as I got to this place was just OFF. I wanted to throw rocks at every single person in that joint. lol..but I didn't. Then it was off to good ole bubblicious UCI, I showed up to the Parking structure and the man goes 'What do you want?' with an attitude..lol after he had mumbled it the first time. So as you can see even though I was being a bit sensitive, these folks have been asking - no scratch that..more like demanding for rocks to be thrown at them.
Then I show up to the school, and the students are just as bad. Along with getting rocks thrown at them, they keep swift kick in the face. Definitely not a fan of this city. Republican nation..bougy nation.. need to go kick rocks.
I can't even say because they go to a UC, they're being like this...lol because the kids at UCLA were pretty cool folks. Especially for being approached everyday by some off campus folks, I'd say they're up there with being awesome along side the USC kids. And I can't even say it's the money thing because USC kids typically lets say have no problem paying their tuition. It must be something in the air, something on Cox Communications (their cable provider), the lack of diversity that make these people so off the chain ridiculous.
Well, god speed and the funny part is when these folks try to do the 'Hollywood' thing they get a rude awakening that we ain't in kansas anymore dorothy..lmao... well i guess that's what happens to sheltered kids? eesssh ignorant, yet book smart people really get me man..just doesn't make sense..lol that needs to be a part of the requirements to get into these oh so mighty institutions.
Man, I'm glad I live where I can see a Latino and Asian holding hands and a Black dude and a White dude walking down the other side of the street. F this plesantville in color mess..go to L.A. add to the evolution of your growth, don't feed your ignorance.
As I sit here at Cal Poly Pomona for Campus MovieFest enjoying the candy for my eyeballs...this for some reason has been quite a turn of events of irony. You see, never was a fan of boys younger than me, lol it just was a rule of thumb in my world since most act immature. lol i midiswell get the least immature of the bunch? well through my JAMtastic experiments of dealing with the older male species..lol bitchassness is still alive and kicking..it doesn't matter age..it is ALIVE..and SERIOUSLY needs to be extinct.
......I'm now back at home, I wanted to share this dreadful THING that has plagued certain individuals....
So here is a history lesson and just all around life lesson of bitchassness
Where did the term 'Bitchassness' formulate?
lmao, now what it's original definition is as follows: Diddy Version
their version
There was a case in particular that I won't call the person out on their shiestyness/wackness..aka..lol, the JAMtastic translation of bitchassness or else I'd be the one with the side effect.
At this point in time, I need to take my own advice..my own words of wisdom and let these bitchasses, get some meds for their prob..or go elsewhere and become extinct from my world. It's taken a while to get it to the JAMtastic world that I want it to be. I truly can't have that infect my world. So while those grown ass adults attempt to get healthy again, I gotta stay focused and do what I was meant to do ..especially with this 2nd chance.
And on that note. Peace be with all of ya'll. I gotta attempt to get some kind of sleep before starting my 2am - 10am shift. lata skatas. :0)
Side note: I appreciate all my true and real friends ..as well as my family and supporters every day. You guys mean so much to me that words will never be able to express. While my world gets complex in it's own ways, you guys continue to stand by my side and you guys add on to the blessing that life has become for me. So thank you. And my word is good when I say we WILL party when JAM gets to that point..love you.
After every monday night's I Want to Work for Diddy, I don't know if you got the memo, but Diddy takes it one step further and brings PAtv to ya via YouTube.
Let me catch you up..it's actually some really good stuff and gives those that may think they have what it takes to work for Diddy a closer insight to how the tune behind the scenes truly goes. I'll put the most recent at the top, lol so you at least know what's the latest and greatest..lol the people that comment on it crack me up and every once in a while you'll catch my postings to their ignorance. lmao
So Today was one of those off beat - random kind of days. Although it started somewhat normal. Waking up to go to a college campus for Campus MovieFest..today's victim, USC. It wasn't bad at all, passing out flyers, talking to students getting them amped up for tomorrow's launch day. It went pretty well considering these folks get bombarded on a daily from outside organizations as well as on campus organizations. lol, if I were them, I'd totally curse people out that approached me while rushing to class. But which each flyer I passed out, each student I quickly spoke to..there WAS a method to the madness. Even though promoting guerilla style is somewhat shameless, I tried to at least respect their personal space and through that, I think I got some pretty good results. The people speed walking, cruising on a bike/skateboard/razor (yeah they still use those for some reason), or walking on the farther side of the pathway CLEARLY did NOT want to be bothered. lol everyone else was fair play and I think they didn't mind being approached for the most part. So my day was looking fairly good, then I went home..took a nap..and then that's when my unnecessary side should have probably stayed asleep.
I'm saying, when I woke up a bit early to watch I Want to Work For Diddy to find some interesting news from my father, it tapped into a side I wasn't ready to deal with being half-awake and half-asleep. It got me thinking about how I'm going to resolve such hurdles and the temptations I continue to face almost on a daily. There's a couple of huge temptations I face every blue moon. lol and tonight for some reason had to be that blue moon. It got me thinking about life's temptations I struggle with and this random one that just for some reason won't go to rest. If I had given into what we'll call right now, "Random A" I could probably be a little more at ease in life. haha, if that's not a big enough hint already. The point is, I struggle just like everyone else it's a matter of how strong you are as a person if you can withstand it or not. So far, I'm winning this battle.
We all have our "shiet" to deal with, just understand God will never give you anything you can't handle. Whether I like dealing with it at that moment in time, feeling weak or strong, when I get out of it, I'll be a lot stronger (including more gratfeul and appreciative). So while I hated feeling how I did earlier tonight, I'm stronger and I'm blessed. I can't complain at all, but enjoy life, my family, my real friends, and do it with a smile. A smile that shares the pain and strength of my being. Understand, when I smile and laugh, it's not to hide the pain, it's to share my strength, my happiness, and love (disfunctional or not..lol), my inspirations, my experiences with whomever. lol I'm certainly not you're average shmoe, my name is Jameela and welcome to my JAMtastic world. lol and yes more than likely I'm going to use AK {music} to support the vibe of my blogs...
While I sit on this Airport Express bus going from Santa Rosa Airport to the Oakland Airport with a slight twing of California Chandon under the fumes of Crest toothpaste and Extra gum resinating in my boca after my cousin Amina dropped me off...lmao.. I have a bit of time to think of this quick mini vaca. Although quick, brief and very to the point this was one well needed. It was great to see this side of my family. Even though we keep in touch through this new fantastic technology and these social networks (i.e. facebook)..it was good to have that personal interaction again. This totally wouldn't have been possible if my amazing Aunt Debbie didn't "sponsor" me if you will...to go and enjoy my cousin (her daughter)'s baby shower. This wasn't the Haitian side of my family..lol I like to call it my Claremont College side..since seeing as that my dad, my uncle, my cousin Nate and his cousin Michael ALL went to Pomona College while my cousin Nisaa went to Scripps College..lmao and of course you know I went to Pitzer College..and our grandfather was heavily involved with the Claremont Colleges .....lmao so that makes for a pretty fun cluster of 5C good times...HA, plus Nisaa had friends from the 5c's come and rep. lol one of which even helped in the adventures of mission: get JAM to sonoma county. so huge thank you as well Czelena!
...Currently being in the state and dimension of continuous evolution..it was vital to be around that kind of love, experience, and intellect from my families perspective as well as my cousin's other side of the family and friends. Geeesh, I can't believe Nisaa and Adrian have already been married for TWO years!..huge congrats..and a huge congrats to the bundle of joy that will soon join the partay in the coming month or so...
So I want to say I love you and thank you to all of my family ESPECIALLY my Aunt Debbie that made it possible. No REALLY, she's the ONLY reason my ass made it up there with no problem. haha, it's funny because she and I look more related than I do to my mom and same with her and her kids. But I guess that would make sense, she's my dad's sister..and of course the male has the more dominant genes ..and I look like both of them. lmao fyi - little JAMtastic fun fact, my Aunt Debbie likes Killswitch Engage. how DOPE and great is THAT?! :-P
Anyhoot, enjoy some of the pics from Nisaa's baby shower that I high-jacked from other people's pages..lmao..thanks Nate! haha...

Back to this bus: we've taken off since I've written this..lmao and I caught this bus a bit before it was to leave @ 7am..and I guess it makes stops to the different hotels to pick people up. A lot cheaper than a taxi cab (for a long distance travel in Nor. Cal), only $32 to take what they call.. "the shuttle"..lmao..aw man I'm looking at this sign that says the DoubleTree has a Starbucks. aaw man, the sacrifices we make to get some coffee in the a.m. lmao I guess I'll have to get it at the airport instead..lol when I get there at like 10 a.m. hahaha.. lets see it's 7:24a.m. haha I guess I should take the time to get this alcohol after taste off of my breath. I almost killed a bottle of sparkling red wine..lol and I'm not hung over in the least... maybe I'm getting my super Cabo powers back? eh, I don't know..lmao
..Alrighty, geesh the sun is out AND about..sunglasses time. And maybe I'll catch some zzz's on here if the rattling and shaking of the bus doesn't become too much of a distraction for my most precious of sleep. Until than party people.......enjoy these JAMtastic baby flicks I dug in the crates for..lmao.. these didn't make it on the Guess baby game, I'll have to get that pic from Aunt Debbie that she put on there..lmao it's pretty stellar with a cowboy hat..lmao good times mayne.. JAM fresh from gaining my color back - lol i turned purple and blue because the umbilical cord was around my neck and my other Aunt that is a nurse, "Tatie Lilly"...saved my life.
..i friggin loved my stuffed animals..lmao..this is me at 2 years old.
